Remember the History of My Village Through Its Buildings

I live in an old English village. It still has the original church from the 15th century still there - stone restoration has meant the church has retained its beauty and stature too.
What I love about my village are all these old buildings. Even the pub - which has been around for 50 years or so - uses the old stables that were part of the village and they've kept everything restored there.
I think the developers have done an excellent job by building new houses in separate areas and keeping the old village in tact. In fact, I see this a lot in Northamptonshire - the villages don't change, and they keep their olde worlde beauty. It's a real pleasure driving from Northampton to Bedford along the A428 to see all the old villages along this route - most are made of stone and have a real timeless beauty to them.
