What is so Lovable about Dear Mika

posted on 3 February 2012

Mika may be very young but there are so many things that she can do so much better than people who are much older. Aside from the fact that she can cook really well, Mika also plays a lot of sports. In school, she is a member of their swimming team. Occasionally, she also gets to play volleyball and even badminton. You can ask her what is sports psychology all about and she can readily give you a short lecture about it. Name it and Mika can do it! Her parents are really so proud of all that she has achieved at such a young age. But more than the awards and recognition that she has received from various competitions, what makes her parents proudest is the fact that Mika has remained to be the good girl that she has always been. As a matter of fact, she has a lot of friends in school and every time they are asked about Mika, they only have nice words to say about her. Mika should really be proud of herself, too.

Why Are Digital Cameras So Awesome?

posted on 19 November 2011

Talking with a wedding photographer in Berkshire the other day, it got me thinking more and more about the art of photography. Have you ever woken up to the most absolutely beautiful sunrise that you’ve ever seen and felt yourself the luckiest person in the world to have a camera at that very moment, just so you could take a picture of it? You notice that the birds are flying in a beautiful pattern, so you snap a shot of them too. You suddenly notice that there are many different types of flowers of every shape, size, and color, that seemed to just spring up into existence at this very moment, and everything just seems so wonderful and so beautiful, and so you spend the morning taking photos all over the place, finding one marvel after another, all the while, feeling so thankful and so blessed that you were smart enough to bring your camera along. What a wonderful thing it’s going to be to share the photos with the rest of the World. You take your last few shots of the morning, and then wind your camera up, just to find a couple minutes later that there was no film in the camera… Now do you see why digital cameras are so awesome?

posted on 6 August 2011

Drugs have become a common problem here in the city of London because most of the youths are participating in drug taking as well as supplying. There are those whom have already been caught and sentenced to a lifetime imprisonment, but this does not seem to be enough of a lesson from these victims because s many cases of drug abuse are still being reported. There is a golf psychologist who was reportedly diagnosed with a drug overdose in a London hospital and is also under charges because of being found participating in drug taking as well as supplying which is an illegal business that needs to be gotten rid of as soon as possible. He is not the first to be suspected of doing so, but there are many others who are under investigation and are supposed to ensure they are under the arms of the law for them to be punished accordingly. It is people like these who are making this country lag behind because pf participating in malicious actions which cause more harm than good.

Is Home Tuition Beneficial to Brilliant Students?

posted on 25 June 2011

Parents have important role of ensuring that their children get the right and quality education. However, and sad to say, enrolling your children in regular top schools is not enough. Just like any other sector in an economy, education is becoming very competitive and sticking to the old methods will not help you out anyway. This is the main reason why most parents organizing home tuitions for their school going children. However it does not stop here, there are other significant reasons why you need home tuition for your children. Contrary to the general opinion that home tuition is only beneficial to children who perform poorly in class, even bright children seriously needs home tuition. Brilliant students and good class performers needs home tuition to work out on their grades for the best. I mean they need home tuition so that they sustain their performance and also improve for the best not just be comfortable where they are. Even brilliant students need to compete effectively with others in class and locking them out of private tuition will only limit their potentials. Again, brilliant student need to work hard to maintain their good grades and academic ranks. This is where reinforcement with home tuition is very beneficial. Proper home tuition will help them maintain or increase their grades. Besides, they have equal opportunity to practices, understand more, and elaborate well what they learned in schools rather than wait until they go back to school the following day. This increases their potential to absorb more.

Gotta Love Those Hot Summer days!

posted on 25 April 2011

Summer is the best season, no matter what, I prefer being burning hot, than freezing in the cruel unforgiving winter! Well, by far, the best summer days are the warmest, but with a special "ingredient": wind. Cool and chilly wind combined with the joyful warmth of the sun gives me a specific inner peace, I feel so relaxed, and sometimes I let myself fall on the grassy grounds. I might be in my festival camping gear at a music shindig, or just at the local park. And nothing, and I mean nothing, tastes better than chilly drinks with ice cubes on the bottom. You really do feel your temperature is freezing! Since there's no school in summer, there's absolutely no haste so I usually go for a walk, on bare foot, on the hot asphalt, taking my time and if I want to, I "retreat" to the shade provided by the huge trees and let the power of sleep to compel me. Summer time is the best time to catch up with your best friends also, you can play beach soccer on hot sand, and go ride your bike with your friends because it is only so much fun to ride your bike in the summer. Who doesn't love summer doesn't know what he's missing out.

Fishing Appealing to Many People, But Not to Me

posted on 17 February 2011

Fish are important to the world. As food, they are healthy and provide Omega-3 fatty acids that help raise the level of "good" cholesterol in people who eat them. Some of the world's biggest countries have important fishing industries, such as Japan and the United States. Fishing is also an enjoyable past time for many people. They enjoy the solitude, the satisfaction of catching their own dinner, and the time they get to spend in nature. Furthermore, you don't need much equipment to fish - just a rod and some - for example - carp tackle. I, however, am not a fan of fish or fishing. The wriggly, slimy animals that suffocate as you bring them out of the water just give me the creeps. Digging in the dirt to find and spear a worm, then tossing it out in the middle of a lake to get all soggy, then grabbing the animal that wanted to eat the soggy, speared worm, and then suffocating and eating the worm-eating animal? That doesn't sound like my idea of a good time. I wouldn't mind being out on a boat in the middle of a lake to enjoy the solitude, but I don't need a fishing pole or a tackle box to do it. And as for catching my own fish: I can grab a can of tuna from the supermarket any day.

An Exceptionally Nice Monte Carlo That Has My Undying Respect

posted on 13 September 2010

The nicest car that I have ever been privileged to drive and own was a 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo. Yes I love the classics, and it's a pity there aren't more driving experience days that allow the young people of today to try them out! The sleek looking black body with a small red pinstripe helped that car look fancy enough for any dinner date and at the same time was excellent for grocery shopping in style. The gas mileage was excellent, I averaged twenty miles per gallon. The six cylinder engine ran so smoothly and I was never let down or stranded anywhere. Everything under the hood was easily accessible for fixing and getting repairs made. All parts inside and out were very durable and strong and gave the impression of lasting durability. A bench seat in front allowed for it to be a six passenger vehicle, which was nice for family outings. The trunk was more than spacious, even with the spare tire in it, there was still room for coolers, folding chairs, and whatever games or entertainment we desired at the time. I would not hesitate for a second to get another one like it.
