With flowers everywhere and people around wishing you “Happy honeymoon” with a completely stranger sitting beside me made the event feel so surreal. I remembered the movie” Runaway Bride” and its scenes played through my head on my wedding day. Sleeping in the other room was the first day of my honeymoon. I feel a bit embarrassed to reveal that and at the same time I feel there may be thousands of people with the same experience as me (mine was an arranged marriage). Right from the moment engagement rings were chosen by my parents, everything was out of my hands.
However, as the days have passed, things have become much better - he's a very nice guy, but I wish I could have known that before we married! He is a very understanding as well as caring guy with whom I can rely one. But according to my experience, do not go blindly as few people are meant to be lucky. Life is like an open road where you have to make decision by your own free will. So whenever you make it, choose it wisely. |

These types of fashion styles are chic and fabulous and it also helps to move easily and to dance in the parties. The clothes which are found in this fashion style are perfect cut jeans paired with wonderful heeled shoes. The simplistic style of fashion dresses is comfortable and they also attract the attention of people. The simplistic clothes are tank tops and jeans with the correct length and paired with beautiful heels. |

In our community marriages, after the wedding ceremony was over, a chain was put on the bride’s neck as an indication of marriage and chocolates were thrown at people. It is a funny thing on all our weddings to put chocolates and small biscuits inside a beautiful pashmina shawl. Two young ladies would hold the shawl on the top of the bride, sitting. They will keep it until the marriage ceremony was over and would throw them at the mass. Little kids would fly to grab the thrown off chocolates. It is our belief that if these chocolates are put into the mouths of unmarried girls or boys by an elderly woman, they will get married soon. So, it will be funny to watch elderly women begging the kids for one or two chocolates who would have succeeded in grabbing all of them by then. Our weddings aren't great if you're on a diet! |

Recently my cousin got married and I had gone to Delhi to attend her wedding. The wedding preparation was organized by an event management group in a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city. They had kept a fusion theme of modernity mixed traditionalism (from modern pashmina shawls to more traditional wear). The décor of the place was traditional with brass pots and flowers all the way to the marriage hall. A fusion of western and classical band was performing music. The buffet dinner spread was lavish. It had starters and soups followed by the main course meal and desserts. I enjoyed the meal along with my cousins. The wedding ceremony started at around 9 pm in the night and took nearly three hours to get over. It was a traditional North Indian wedding. The groom arrived at the place riding a horse. Both the bride and the groom were wearing designer’s clothes. The bride had worn a heavy swarovski crystals encrusted saree and was looking very pretty. |
